Transport Authority probing this morning’s fatal Clarendon accident, amid allegations that its employees were chasing one of the cars involved

The Transport Authority has indicated that it is probing the accident, which it said involved a private motor vehicle operating as a public passenger vehicle.

Alleged eyewitnesses claimed one of the vehicles involved in the crash was being chased by employees of the authority.

In a statement this afternoon, the authority expressed sadness and regret at the loss of the lives of two children.

It said an investigation has been launched into the incident and a team from its investigative unit was dispatched to the accident site as part of the investigation.

The authority further urged the commuting public to choose only legal public passenger vehicles as their mode of transportation.
