TransJamaican Highway Limited has purchased the license to operate the Williamsfield to May Pen leg of the highway for US$20.3 million.

This comes at the end of nearly two years of negotiations with the National Road Operating and Constructing Company Limited.  

Chief Executive Officer, Ivan Anderson gave the update at the company’s third quarter investor briefing on Friday.

Mr. Anderson noted that the new toll road is expected to increase the operator’s revenue, by about US$10 million.

He added that recruitment and training are underway and it’s expected that the staff will be in place by next month.
