TransJamaican Highway discussing with Govt multimillion dollar loss due to toll suspension amid Hurricane Melissa
While Hurricane Melissa had no direct impact on TransJamaican Highway Limited, the temporary suspension of toll collection left a significant gap in earnings and the company is in talks with government about the issue.
Chief Executive Officer Ivan Anderson gave an update on the situation to shareholders at the company’s third quarter investor briefing yesterday.
Anderson noted that the period of suspension resulted in a US $3.5m loss.
He said the storm had no impact on the company’s ability to pay bond holders.
