Communities across Southwest St. Elizabeth have been devastated by hurricane Beryl.

Member of Parliament Floyd Green says areas such as Treasure Beach to Barbary Hall, Vineyards, and Shrewsberry have been badly affected.

There are reports of downed trees and poles some of which have blocked roads. He adds that many houses have also lost their roofs.

Mr. Green says assessments will commence today.

Meanwhile, one resident of Vineyards, Niki, says she is aware of about ten houses that have lost their roofs.

She explains that there is flooding in the area and poultry and livestock farmers have lost their animals.
