Traffic continues to move slowly in sections of St. Ann after a truck overturned along the Priory Main Road this morning.

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police and head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), Dr. Gary McKenzie, says equipment was deployed to remove the truck ; however, it has not yet been fully cleared from the scene.

He noted that both lanes are now open, but congestion remains.

Dr. McKenzie assured that police officers are still on the ground managing traffic and urged motorists to cooperate with the authorities as they work to restore normal flow.

Meanwhile, several taxi operators were affected by the traffic snarls in sections of St. Ann today.

Gregory Fray, who operates the Discovery Bay to St. Ann’s Bay route said he and several other drivers withdrew their services early, leaving many commuters stranded.

He added that the traffic pile-up caused him to lose out on thousands of dollars in income.
