Traffic congestion and limited parking in major towns as consumers do last-minute holiday shopping
Several towns across Jamaica are experiencing traffic congestion, as citizens rush to conclude last-minute preparations for Christmas Day.
This, as many businesses will be closed at noon, ahead of the public holiday tomorrow.
In Ocho Rios, St. Ann, the Irie FM team observed bumper-to-bumper traffic, with several motorists finding it difficult to obtain parking spaces.
The same was observed in the Corporate Area, especially in Half-Way-Tree, where motorists who dared to commute this morning were caught in a gridlock.
Several cops were also seen in major towns.
Ahead of the festive season, the Jamaica Constabulary Force pledged to deploy additional police officers on thoroughfares across the island to ensure law and order and public safety.
