Tourism Ministry to spend $569 million on Falmouth artisan village in Trelawny
The Tourism Ministry is projected to spend $569 million on the Falmouth artisan village in Trelawny.
$370 million has been spent to date and another $199 million is being projected to complete the project.
The village which should have been completed last year is now set to open on march 20.
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett gave an update on the project at yesterday’s Standing Finance Committee.
He noted that 36 vendors will be accommodated at the venue initially and 48 later on.
Meantime, as it relates to another budget item, the Minister reiterated that 15 beaches will be redeveloped at a cost of $140 million in the next fiscal year.
