Top NBL and WNBL players named to represent Jamiaca at 2026 Commonwealth Games

National Basketball League (NBL)top players Nicholai Brown, Malik lawerence and Tommy Mcdonald will lead Jamaica’s Basketball delegation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games, in Glasgow Scotland . 

The trio along with Xavier Sewell were named in the four member squad by the Jamaica Basketball Association to represent Jamaica in the men’s 3 on 3 competition at the July 23 to August 2 games.  

Meanwhile, Women’s National Basketball Legaue (WNBL) players, Tiffany Reynolds, Carissa Robinson, Christeina Bryan and Teneisia Brown are the four ladies who will represent Jamaica in the women’s 3 on 3 basketball competition in Scotland. 

The experienced Rohan Robsinon will coach the male team, and Oniel Brown will be in charge of the women’s team. 

The tournament features twelve teams divided into two groups of six, with each playing a comprehensive round-robin schedule. 

The top-ranked team from each group advances directly to the semi-finals, while the second and third-placed teams must navigate semi-final to secure their spots in the championship decider.

Jamaica is drawn in Group B’ in the men’s competition along with hosts,  England, Fiji, Kenya, Malaysia, and Singapore, while the Jamaican ladies will compete in Group A where they will face Australia, Cayman Islands, Fiji, Kenya, and Uganda.
