Following the recent killing of a taxi operator in Linstead, St. Catherine, one transport group is urging taxi drivers to remain vigilant while on duty.

The advice came from President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, TODSS, Egeton Newman, while addressing the group’s weekly virtual meeting, on Wednesday. 

Reports are that on Tuesday, a gunman posing as a passenger, fatally shot a taxi operator and wounded 3 passengers.

While emphasizing the urgent need for action, Mr. Newman said too many public transport operators are losing their lives.
