The Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS) says despite the financial pressure on public transport operators, its members are also aware of the mounting economic constraints on commuters. 

This comment comes in the wake of an agreement by public passenger operators and the Finance and Transport Ministries to hold off on next month’s scheduled 16 per cent fare increase. 

TODSS President, Egeton Newman says though operators were looking forward to the increase, they have not ignored the fact that the persons from whom they make an income are also under financial burden.
