TikTok begins restoring service to some users in the United States
TikTok has begun restoring service to some users in the United States, following a temporary ban imposed last evening.
According to NBC News, the video platform confirmed that service was coming back online, after President-elect Donald Trump provided the necessary assurances to the company’s service providers.
In a recent post on “X” (formerly Twitter), TikTok expressed gratitude to President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to its service providers, ensuring it would not face penalties for offering the app to millions of Americans.
The platform also stated it will work with President Trump on a long-term solution to keep TikTok in the United States.
Just hours before TikTok blocked access to American users, President Trump posted on Truth Social calling for the platform to remain available, emphasizing his desire to use it for broadcasting his inauguration on Monday.
