Three men have been arrested following a high-speed chase which led to the recovery of a goat believed to have been stolen in Newport, Manchester today.

Sub-officer in Charge of Operations in Manchester, Inspector Simon Mccormack says the men were held by a patrol team, about midday.

He said one of the men is known to the police.

Meanwhile, the inspector is appealing to farmers in the Newport area to be vigilant.

He is hoping that today’s incident will act as a warning to praedial larcenists.
