Three people were arrested and three firearms seized in Westmoreland between Friday and Saturday, as the police continue to clamp down on gangs, guns and gunmen.

Head of the Westmoreland police, Superintendent Othneil Dobson, said the firearms seized consist of a bushmaster rifle and two 9MM pistols.

He said over 40 rounds of ammunition and two ballistic vests were also seized.

He said the seizures were related to the Kings Valley gang.
