Thousands of Jamaica Public Service customers, who were without power yesterday, should have service restored by now.
This as the JPS indicated last evening that its teams were working towards full restoration by midnight.
JPS reported that up to 6 PM yesterday, the majority of its customer base had their electricity restored.
Power was disrupted due to the passage of a squall line, which brought strong winds that threw debris, including zinc sheets, into power lines.
Affected areas included sections of Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon, Manchester and Trelawny.
About 50,000 customers were impacted.
JPS is urging the public to exercise caution, especially around fallen wires and debris.
