The inagural GAPS programme for Para athletes gets underway today
The inagural (gather, adjust, prepare, sustain) Americas & Caribbean programme (GAPS) for Para athletes gets underway today at the UWI Mona Campus.
Para athletes from Barbados, Grenada, St lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, hosts Jamaica and the Faulkland Islands are set to participate at the event will run until Monday April 22.
The historic occasion is a collaboration between the Jamaica Paralympic Association, the University of the West Indies and the Commonwealth Games Federation.
This camp, will seek to address some of the unique challenges faced by Para-Sport Athletes from the Americas and Caribbean region through a partnership programme that: educates coaches, identifies talent, undertakes skill development camps, provides international internships, enables research opportunities.
