Ten members of Judiciary were today sworn in to higher office for Michaelmas Term
Ten members of the Judiciary were today sworn in to higher office for the Michaelmas Term.
The judges, who were sworn in by Governor-General, Sir Patrick Allen during a ceremony at King’s House will serve in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
Of the ten judges, five have been appointed on a permanent basis while the remaining five will serve in an acting capacity.
Those who will assume permanent positions are former Puisne Judge Georgiana Fraser who has been elevated to the Court of Appeal.
Three others, Stephanie Muir, Sharon Millwood-Moore and Opal Smith will serve as Puisne Judges, while Luciana Jackson has been appointed a Master in Chambers.
Five others have been appointed to act in higher roles for designated periods.
They are Justice Lorna Shelly Williams who will act as a Judge of Appeal.
Tracy-Ann Johnson and Kamar Henry-Anderson will serve as Puisne Judges.
While, Yvette Wentworth-Miller, and Christine McNeil will act as Masters in Chambers.
In congratulating the judges, Sir Patrick expressed hope that their service will be marked by clarity, courage and confidence.
