Teachers reject latest compensation package offered by Gov’t during special vote today
Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) delegates rejected the latest compensation package offered by the Government during a vote at a special conference in Kingston today (March 8).
In presenting the results, JTA’s Secretary General, Dr Mark Nicely revealed that 346 delegates voted to reject the offer, out of 578 ballots issued.
Meantime, JTA President, La Sonja Harrison said the majority vote reflects the collective will of the members.
She said the Finance Ministry will be informed formally of the results.
