A taxi operator with 87 outstanding warrants for unpaid traffic tickets has been fined 130 thousand dollars for some of the traffic breaches.
28-year-old Damion Simpson of White Hall Negril, appeared in the Westmoreland Parish Court yesterday and pleaded guilty.
Police say he had unpaid tickets for breaches committed in Westmoreland, Hanover and St James.
Zone Four Commander for the Westmoreland police, Deputy Superintendent Shaunjaye Mitchell says Simpson turned up at the Negril police station to make a report on Wednesday and was nabbed, after it was found that he was on the station’s warrant list.
He is to face the court in Hanover and St James in connection with the warrants issued in those parishes.
