A taxi operator accused of stealing a motor vehicle has been arrested and charged.

He is 28-year-old Shemar Tyrell of Lower Mall Road, Kingston. Tyrell is facing charges of larceny of motor vehicle.

Reports are that on Thursday, June 20, a man locked up his vehicle, in the driveway of his home in Cornfield, Gordon Town, St. Andrew. He then went to bed.

The man reportedly received a notification the next morning that his vehicle was being driven along Mannings Hill Road in St. Andrew.

The vehicle was intercepted and found in Tyrell’s possession. Tyrell was taken into custody.

He was charged following a question and answer session in the presence of his attorney.

A court date is being arranged.
