The National Council of Taxi Associations, NCOTA is expected to make a submission to the Transport Authority for a fare increase.

The last adjustment in taxi fare was made in 2021.

The fare went up by 15 percent.

NCOTA President Allan Blair said the fare increase and other outstanding matters were discussed with the Transport Minister at a meeting on Wednesday.

Mr. Blair said operators want a 30 percent hike.

Mr. Blair said also discussed at the meeting, was the 30 percent discount for licence renewal.
