TAJ announces extension of October GCT filing and payment to November 28

Taxpayers are being advised that the due date for filing returns for consumption taxes for September has been extended from October 31 to Friday, November 28.

These taxes include the General Consumption Tax (GCT), the Special Consumption Tax (SCT), the Telephone Call Tax (TCT), and the Guest Accommodation Room Tax (GART).

This means that taxpayers will not face penalties for late filing and payment.

The new deadline has been granted in consideration of persons who may have been affected by Hurricane Melissa.

The consumption tax returns for October 2025 are also due on November 28.

Taxpayers will file and pay both September and October returns to meet the November 28 deadline.

Taxpayers are reminded that filing is mandatory online on Tax Administration Jamaica’s website at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.

Payment can also be made via the TAJ’s e-services platform on its website, using a credit card or debit card with credit card features.

Other payment options include NCB online banking, Scotia online and mobile app and direct funds transfer.
