Marleys announce Jo Mersa tribute for March 8

The reggae and dancehall community will converge on Saturday, March 8, 2025, to pay tribute to fallen reggae singer, Joseph ‘Jo Mersa’ Marley.

The celebration, being produced by the Marley family, will be held in Kingston and will feature live performances from the Marley brothers to honour the life of Stephen Marley’s first child, mere days before what would have been his 34th birthday on March 12.

Last year’s concert held in Nine Mile St. Ann, the birthplace of Bob Marley and the resting place for both the reggae icon and Jo Mersa, featured performances from some of reggae and dancehall’s big names including the Marley brothers and second-generation Marley talent.

Jo Mersa debuted in 2014 with the EP Comfortable and appeared on Morgan Heritage’s 2016 Grammy-winning album, Strictly Roots. He was on the brink of making significant strides in the industry, before his sudden passing in December 2022.
