Sumfest Organizers say no beef with Bounty Killer

A few days after Bounty’s announcement that there will not be a tribute for him at the 2024 staging of Reggae Sumfest, the event organizers are shedding some light on the Warlord’s revelation.

In an IRIE FM exclusive CEO of Downsound Records Joseph Bogdanovich said the business side of the negotiations were not aligned hence the breakdown and Bounty’s withdrawal from the festival.

Meanwhile Festival Director Skatta Burrel said working through intricate details which include the artiste performing at the tribute was time consuming.

Skatta also noted there is no bad blood between organizers and Bounty and the door is open for anything to happen.   

Despite the exclusion of a tribute to Bounty Killer, Skatta said a stalwart in the industry will be honoured at this year’s festival.
