Businessman and CEO of Romeich Entertainment, Romeich Major is urging the Jamaican government to promote and invest in brand Dancehall.
“Trinidad Carnival!!! All I can say it’s crazy, it’s fun, it’s amazing but most of all everyone comes together, especially all artists, promoters, and in my view even the government”, he wrote in part, in a social media post shared to his official Instagram account on Monday (Feb 20).
The lengthy text continued in part, “Sometimes it’s not about comparing but sharing knowledge. We have a product called Dancehall that’s so powerful, we the country of Jamaica, just not utilizing it the right way, and we need more proper investment from persons who can.”
Romeich concluded his message by pointing out that the parties in Trinidad went on for hours without the hassle of being locked off.
Social Media users also weighed-in. In the comment section, one user wrote, “Jamaica too bad mind and corrupt for such unity.” While another shared, “The Jamaican government takes Dancehall for granted.”
Trinidad Carnival is arguably one of the best carnivals in the world.
