Beenie Man is thanking New York City Mayor Eric Adams after receiving a special citation over the weekend.

The Dancehall legend was honored for his musical contributions following his performance at Rise Up NYC, a charity event hosted by the city.

Beenie shared a video of the moment on social media, captioned:

“Respect to the Mayor of NYC for honouring the Rasta from Jamaica at Rise Up NYC! It’s a true blessing to be recognized for my body of work, love, and significant contributions to our culture. 1 King Zaga Zow! #MyGodIsTrulyAmazing”

Rise Up NYC — a free concert held in Brooklyn — brought people from all walks of life to Wingate Park to experience the Dancehall icon live.
