Tuff Gong International, the iconic studio that has been a major player in the Jamaican music landscape has announced a temporary pause on tours.
According to a release sent from the Bob Marley Group of Companies the closure is not a goodbye, but a rebirth.
The release noted in part that there is a pause on tours at Tuff Gong International but only because something BIG is on the way!
It continued by noting that when reopened, Tuff Gong Studio will have a ton of modern enhancements and will be the hottest new tour attraction in Kingston. It ended by thanking patrons for their continued support and partnership.
The historic studio was the playground of several local and international acts including Rita Marley, Capleton, Sly and Robbie, Shaggy, Bounty Killer, Lady Saw, Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers, I-Wayne, Beenie Man, Jimmy Cliff, Snoop Dog, Sinead O’Connor, Kenny Chesney, Lauryn Hill and more.
The upgraded studio will feature state-of-the-art sound systems, sleek new design elements, and immersive experiences that will transport visitors into the world of reggae.
