Rachel Silvera will represent Jamaica at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico this September.
The 25-year-old pharmacy student and entrepreneur was crowned Miss Universe Jamaica on Monday morning at the AC Hotel Kingston.
Meanwhile, the first runner-up title went to 30-year-old real estate professional and entrepreneur Sara-Jade Kow, while 23-year-old Keri-Ann Greenwood, Miss Universe Jamaica East, was named second runner-up.
A native of St. Mary, Rachel Silvera is passionate about environmental sustainability. Her organization, Footprints Jamaica, focuses on the development and urbanization of rural communities while promoting sustainability.
