Days after lamenting the conditions of the roads in Kingston Entertainer Popcaan is turning the spotlight once again on the road in his birth parish of St Thomas.
Poppy who is no stranger to assisting in the development of the parish, shared a video of himself driving on a portion of the road without the asphalted surface. In the video Popcaan can be heard querying the condition of the roads while questioning how recent they were fixed comparing the surface to some resort towns. As the video ended a jovial popcaan says the people of the parish need to demonstrate immediately.
Back in 2017 the Unruly Entertainer led scores of placard bearing residents through the town of Morant Bay, as they peacefully protested what they described as deplorable road conditions.
More recently in January 2024 he embarked on a drain cleaning excersise in the parish to prevent flooding and subsequent road damage.
The road infrastructure in St Thomas was repaired as part of the Government’s Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project. The project was set to have kilometers of four-lane roadways, smooth asphalted surfaces, stoplights, streetlights, and scenic views.
