In continuing its support of Jamaica’s cultural legacy, J. Wray & Nephew Limited has announced its partnership for the celebration of Jamaica 62.
The announcement came with the signing of a $20m agreement with the Ministry of Culture, Entertainment, Gender & Sports.
At signing over ceremony Jean-Philippe Beyer, Managing Director at J. Wray & Nephew Limited said the partnership is a testament the company’s shared commitment to promoting the Jamaican culture.
During the ceremony held at the offices of the J. Wray & Nephew, Minister Olivia Grange elaborated on the collaboration noting Partnerships such as this affirms her belief that we are making significant progress in advancing and positioning culture within our society. She added that her Ministry is grateful for the unwavering support and commitment.
In January 2024, the Government of Jamaica and J. Wray & Nephew, a subsidiary of the Campari Group, signed a three-year $90-million partnership agreement in support of Reggae Month activities.
The Wray Rum partnership for Jamaica 62 aims to showcase the transformative power of sport in uniting communities, inspiring change, and celebrating diversity.
The agreement will see the company’s iconic brand, Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum, sponsoring several events on the Jamaica 62 calendar including Jamaica Festival Song Competition, Jamaica Festival Queen Competition, Jamaica Culinary Arts Competition, National Festival of the Arts, the Governor General’s Independence Reception at King’s House, and the National Grand Gala.
