Celebrations to observe the birth of Jamaica’s cultural icon, Dr. the Honourable Louise Bennett-Coverley, OM, OJ, MBE, affectionately called Miss Lou, will be held locally.
To celebrate her life as a poet, advocate, and social commentator, the JCDC will host a gathering at the National Heroes Park on Wednesday, September 7, to commemorate the 103rd birthday anniversary of Miss Lou.
Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, along with members of the theatre fraternity will lay floral tributes in her honour.
