Family, friends, and fans today bid their final farewell to Kingsley Cooper, Founder of Pulse Investments.
The 71-year-old, who passed away on June 18 in a Florida hospital, was remembered for his outstanding contributions to the fashion and entertainment sectors by peers and politicans.
Among those in attendance at the University Chapel in St. Andrew were Culture and Entertainment Minister Olivia Grange, opposition leader Mark Golding, Opposition spokes person on education Damion Crawford, MP for South East St. Ann Lisa Hanna, and Downsound Records CEO and Reggae Sumfest organizer, Josef Bogdanovich among others.
Kingsley Cooper, along with fellow attorney Hilary Phillips, started Pulse in 1980.
Through Pulse, Cooper pioneered and developed an international modeling industry for the Caribbean, and created opportunities for local and international talent in fashion and music.
Pulse also promoted and produced renowned international events such as Caribbean Fashion Week.
Kingsley Cooper was instrumental in establishing the Peter Tosh Museum at Pulse’s headquarters at 38a Trafalgar Road, in Kingston.
Under Cooper’s leadership, Pulse diversified its business to include media, real estate, and hospitality.
