DJ Khaled, rapper Fat Joe, Rohan Marley, and Bounty Killer are among the industry players celebrating Buju Banton’s return to the United States after six years.
On Thursday (May 2), the Grammy star, who was deported to Jamaica in December 2018 after serving 7 years of a 10-year prison sentence on drug convictions, quelled questions surrounding his return to the US by revealing that he’s in Miami.
“Long was the road. Many were the travels. But the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Miami si mi ya,” he captioned a post of pics shared to his official Instagram account yesterday (May 2), capturing him at with DJ Khaled at his house in Miami, and while sitting on a private jet reading John C Maxwell’s book, The Self Aware Leader, which incidentally teaches among other things, how to make better choices that lead to success.
Among the elated fans in the comment section were Dancehall entertainers Bounty Killer, Bugle, Gramps Morgan, and Anthony B. “Long live the king,” shared Bounty Killer. While Bugle quoted lyrics from Buju’s 1997 hit, ‘Destiny’, writing, “I wanna rule my destiny.”
Gramps Morgan expressed, “So grateful,” while Anthony B and Rohan Marley used emojis to convey their joy, dropping five red hearts and four raising hands, respectively.
Rohan Marley was also seen in videos with Buju Banton and DJ Khaled at Khaled’s Miami residence. DJ Khaled, who was one of the first to drop the big reveal that Buju is in Miami, also expressed joy.
Meanwhile, Music News has been reliably informed that Buju Banton’s entry to the United States will see him perform in New York City in July to mark the beginning of the Buju Banton US tour.
