Isat Buchanan has dismissed suggestions that his Portland victory was connected to his affiliation with Dancehall star Vybz Kartel.
The newly elected East Portland Member of Parliament, who defeated the JLP’s Ann-Marie Vaz in a surprise win, said in a post-election interview that his campaign did not rely on entertainers. Instead, he emphasized that his focus was on his manifesto and the issues that matter to the people.
In 2024, Isat Buchanan was a part of the legal team that secured Vybz Kartel’s historic freedom.
