Actress Kimberly Patterson supports Hollywood ongoing strike

Jamaican international actress Kimberly Patterson said the ongoing writers and producers strike in Hollywood has forced her to pivot.

Hollywood studios and striking screenwriters spent Thursday (Sept 21) in talks that could potentially put an end to the nearly five-month dispute that has brought many film and television productions to a halt. However, according to the Associated press, there were no significant updates following the meeting.

Kimberly Patterson, who plays Ruby in BET’s hit series The Family Business, during her Road to Success interview on Thursday with Kshema Francis on the Easy Skankin show, revealed that filming for season 5 was halted as a result of the ongoing strikes.

She also explained that she supports the move stating that, “it’s humanity vs the corporations,” citing that for “great things to happen, change has to happen.”

From behind the scenes to center stage, Kimberly Patterson has landed roles in films such as Nick Cannon’s King of the Dancehall, BET’s hit series The Family Business (2018), ‘Unspoken’ (2018), and ‘Losing Patience’.

As one of Jamaica’s top-rated makeup artists, her credits include projects such as Bond 25, Sprinter, America’s Next Top Model – 2012, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Beyonce and Jay Z’s On The Run 2 tour, and Damian Marley’s – Living It Up among others.
