Another set of Haitian migrants arrived at a beach in Portland, this morning (September 9).

The police Corporate Communications Unit indicated that the group consists of 36 people – 18 men, 9 women, and 9 children.

They reportedly arrived by boat at Long Bay Beach, at approximately 6:20 AM.

This is the second boat load of Haitians to land in Jamaica, in the last two months.

In July, 37 Haitians landed on Boston Beach, in Portland.

They have since applied for asylum and are awaiting the government’s decision on their applications.
