Dancehall heavyweight Bounty Killer late last evening announced that he will not be taking the stage at this year’s staging of Reggae Sumfest.

With a little over a month before showtime, the Grung Gad in announcing his withdrawal shared a video of himself performing at a previous staging of the festival where he questioned the patrons on their preferred dancehall crew.

As a caption to the video Bounty wrote “Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control there won’t be no Bounty Killer tribute this year at Sumfest and I won’t be appearing either. Salute to all the fans, alliance, and allegiances. Thank you.

Fans took to the comment section where they sent messages of support to the Poor People Defender.

Meanwhile, the official account of the festival earlier today released what they note as the the official flyer of the 7 day event. Though the team is yet to comment on Bounty’s announcement he is noticeably missing from the newly released artwork.

Back in December festival organizers announced that this year’s staging of the event would feature a tribute to the Godfather of dancehall Rodney Bounty Killer Pryce . The tribute was scheduled to be held on Night 1, Friday July 19.
