Reggae Girl Taylor Hinds has decided to switch her international allegiance back to England, accepting a call-up to represent the Lionesses in two upcoming international friendlies against Brazil and Australia later this month.

The 26-year-old defender, who was born in England to Jamaican parents, made her debut for Jamaica just a year ago in a friendly against France. Prior to that, she had represented England at both the Under-17 and Under-19 levels.

Because she had not featured for Jamaica in a competitive fixture, Hinds remained eligible to represent her country of birth under FIFA’s nationality regulations.

In a statement, Hinds expressed gratitude to both nations while acknowledging the emotional weight of her decision.

“It’s a privilege to have two nationalities, and I’m incredibly proud to represent both. I’m still officially an England player and have grown up through the system. I have nothing but the utmost respect and appreciation for Jamaica — they’ve been so understanding and genuinely want the best for me, which means a lot,” she said.
