Auditions have been extended to November 29, 2024, for all eligible creatives, namely dancers, sound system selectors and disc jockeys from across the island to enter Dancehall Week’s Rep Yuh Parish competition.
In a release, the organizers are encouraging applicants to submit a clean freestyle, juggling or dance choreography video not exceeding one minute along with their personal information, parish being represented, and TikTok handle to [email protected] by the deadline. Upon submission the entries will be uploaded to Dancehall Week’s official TikTok, the videos with the most interaction will be announced as semi-finalists on November 30. Semi-finalists will compete in Kingston on December 14, while finalists will compete on March 1, 2025, at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre during the second installment of Dancehall Week.
The best individual dancer, the best dance group, the best selector/ DJ will each win $500,000.
Dancehall Week 2025, endorsed by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission and the Ministry of Tourism, will run from February 23- March 2.
