On the heels of opening a location in Jamaica, British international shoe manufacturer Clarks, says it is committed to supporting charities on the island.
In a release shared via their official social media, the footwear giant said as part of an ongoing commitment to Jamaica, the brand is working with reggae artiste Lila Ike through her Blessings and Light Foundation to donate Clarks footwear and relief funds to local primary schools in Manchester, offering much needed support in the aftermath Hurricane Beryl.
The official page Clarkes further shared that moving into the future, they will use their new physical location on the island to look for continued ways to support school, community groups and charities.
The Clarks company, founded in 1825, has been a popular and iconic brand in Jamaica for decades; the brand’s history with the island dates back as far as the 1970s with musicians from that era embracing the footwear because of its style, comfort and durability.
In 2010, dancehall entertainers Vybz Kartel, Popcaan and Vanessa Bling collaborated to create the hit single Clarks, further cementing the brand as a choice footwear for Jamaicans in comparison to other footwear brands.
