Dancehall queen Spice in a social media live has weighed in on the beating of Tik Toker TJ and his partner Moya which was captured on video.
Promoter and Head of Romeich Entertainment, Romeich Major has subsequently admitted responsibility for the beating and issued an apology after the video went viral.
Spice in her live questioned why the men who were on location witnessing the unfortunate beating did not even see it fit to come to the defence of the female, Moya. She says it appears that this was normal behavior in their eyes.
She also questioned how it is that what appeared to be a member of the Constabulary Force could be taking orders from Romeich.
Spice says Romeich ‘s attempt to come to the defence of his family on the receiving end of verbal attacks, makes it seem he is unaware that those who received the beating have families too.
Prior to the incident caught on video, Spice, fellow dancehall artiste Tifa and cricketer Chris Gayle had in recent times been vocal in accusing Romeich of repetitive questionable conduct over the years, something he had denied at the time. He has also been on record issuing threats saying in response to accusations of deliberate sabotage at that time “a see man fi see unnuh a road and jus box unnuh down and mek unnuh understand wah time it is.”
Head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Corporate Communications Unit, CCU SSP Stephanie Lindsay confirmed to IRIE FM today that the incident is under investigation by both the JCF and police oversight body, INDECOM.
