Christopher Ellis honours late father Alton Ellis with tribute song ‘Miss You’

To commemorate his father’s birthday on September 1, Christopher Ellis, son of Ska legend Alton Ellis, is releasing a song to honour his dad’s memory. 

This week, during an exclusive Music News interview, Christopher Ellis shared details about the song. He explained that the song titled ‘Miss You’, was written for his father but is relatable to anyone who has lost a loved one.

Regarded as one of the innovators of Rocksteady, Alton Ellis was often referred to as the Godfather of the genre.

In 2004, he was awarded the Order of Distinction by the Jamaican government in recognition of his achievements. Alton Ellis was also inducted into the International Reggae and World Music Awards Hall of Fame in 2006.
