The 2023 Grammy Nominations are just one day away.
The Recording Academy will announce the nominations for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards live from the Grammy Museum.
This Gammy season, Jamaican entertainers are not only anticipating a nod in the Best Reggae Album category, since Gramps Morgan and Samantha J both received Grammy considerations for Best Country Album and Best Pop Solo Performance respectively.
Gramps, a member of the Grammy-winning Morgan Heritage clan, sits on the brink of history because if he scores a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album with his EP Deeper, he will be the first Reggae solo artist to be nominated in that category.
Meanwhile, Samantha J who receieved a Grammy consideration in the Best Pop Solo Performance category for her latest single, Push Ya Luck is hoping to secure a nomination.
As for the Best Reggae Album category, with so many albums to consider, anyone could score a nomination. Some of the albums released during the Grammy eligibility period are Sean Paul’s Sorcha, Shaggy’s Come Fly Wid Mi, Jimmy Cliff’s Refugee, Koffee’s Gifted, and Shenseea’s Alpha, among others.
The nominees for the 2023 GRAMMYs will be announced on Tuesday, November 15, just days after the MOBO Awards replaced its Reggae category with the Best Caribbean Act.
The GRAMMYs will air live on February 5, 2023 in Los Angeles.
