Suspected serial rapist charged in multi-parish sex crimes between 2023 and 2026

A suspected serial rapist has been charged in connection with a string of sexual offences committed across multiple parishes over the last three years.

Detectives assigned to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (CTOC) have charged 25-year-old Ackiel Davis of Cornwall Barracks, Moore Town, Portland.

He’s charged with rape, grievous sexual assault, use of a computer for malicious communication and production of child pornography.

The alleged incidents occurred between 2023 and 2026.

Police say the most recent charges stem from an incident involving a 16-year-old girl.

Following intensive investigations, Davis was taken into custody on Wednesday, January 15.

He was placed on an identification parade yesterday, where he was identified.

According to police, investigations revealed that Davis obtained explicit images and videos of females, including minors and used these to blackmail them.

He reportedly threatened to leak the content on social media, unless the victims complied with his sexual demands.

In the current case, it is alleged that the complainant submitted out of fear, during which time the suspect recorded sexual acts.

CTOC has confirmed that Davis is a repeat offender.

He is before the courts for similar crimes committed between 2023 and 2024 involving four other complainants.

At the time of his latest arrest, Davis was out on bail.

He is scheduled to appear in court on February 10, to answer to the previous matters, while a date is being finalised for the new charges.

Investigations are ongoing as detectives believe there may be additional victims.

Anyone with information that can assist in these investigations is asked to contact CTOC at 876-967-1389, the police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

Superintendent of Police Victor Barrett of CTOC believes the actions of Davis showed that he had no regard for the safety of communities.

Superintendent Barrett says Davis exploited the digital space to target and terrorise vulnerable individuals, including minors, through a calculated pattern of blackmail and sexual violence.

He adds that the fact that these offences were committed while the accused was already on bail for similar crimes is a blatant disregard for the safety of citizens.

CTOC is imploring citizens not to yield to the threats or demands of persons online, as complying may lead to further exploitation and physical harm.

Citizens are also asked not to delete messages, images or call logs that may be vital for forensic investigation once the matter is reported.

Parents and guardians are also strongly encouraged to monitor children’s digital footprints and educate them on the permanent risks of sharing sensitive content.

The police say early reporting is critical to stopping serial predators.
