Sunshine Girls hold firm at no. 3 in latest Netball World Rankings

Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls have maintained their position as the number three team in the world, following the release of the latest World Netball Rankings, which factor in results from matches played between June 1 and September 1.

The Jamaicans amassed 4,602 points, giving them a total of 192 rating points—just behind Australia, who continue to lead the standings with 204 points, and New Zealand, who remain second on 195 points.

Completing the top five are England (185) and South Africa (163).

Among Caribbean nations, Trinidad and Tobago remain the region’s second highest-ranked side at number 11 with 94 points. The biggest mover in the latest update was Namibia, climbing three places to 15th after winning the inaugural UAE Netball Cup, where they defeated Singapore 62–53 in the final.

Elsewhere, St. Lucia and the Cayman Islands registered the most significant improvements, each rising five places to 30th and 35th respectively, following strong showings at the ECCB International Series, which concluded on August 31.

The updated rankings carry added importance as they will be used by Commonwealth Sport to determine the 12 teams invited to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Hosts Scotland, currently ranked 10th, are guaranteed inclusion.
