Sunshine girls star defender Shamera Sterling wins club champion award in Australia
Sunshine girls and Adelaide Thunderbirds star defender Shamera Sterling has for the second time in four years won the club’s most coveted honour……the club champion award.
It comes after another stellar year in the Suncorp Super Netball League where she once again was among the top performers and statistical leaders.
The Jamaican international finished the recently concluded season on an outstanding 1,177.5 Nissan net points…..ranked third best in the league…only behind compatriot Jhaniele Fowler of the west coast fever and Maddy Proud of the NSW Swifts.
Sterling in the meantime also led the league in interceptions with 52…….16 more than the second-highest ranked player and was also second in defensive rebounds with 37…2 behind the winner and 4th in deflections with 67.
