“Stay away from gullies and flooded roadways” Works Minister issues warning ahead of Hurricane Melissa
Works Minister Robert Morgan has urged citizens to avoid going into gullies, or attempting to cross flooded roadways.
He gave the warning as Category 5 Hurricane Melissa continues to pose a threat to the island.
It is expected to hit Jamaica tonight or early tomorrow.
Mr. Morgan stressed the importance of citizens prioritizing their safety during the natural disaster.
Last year, during Hurricane Beryl, a young man was washed away by floodwaters in Arnette Gardens, Kingston.
He was attempting to retrieve a football from a gully.
