The St. Mary Police are urging anyone with information about yesterday’s murder of a prominent businessman in Tower Isle, St. Mary to come forward.

The deceased has been identified as Samuel Dixon, also known as “Fraughty.”

Police reports are that Dixon was travelling toward his residence in his car when he was ambushed by unknown assailants who opened fire on his vehicle.

Dixon tried to escape by exiting the car and fleeing on foot, but his attackers pursued him.

He was hit multiple times and collapsed on the roadway.

The police were alerted about the gunfire.

Dixon was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Commanding Officer for the St. Mary Police, Anthony Wallace says additional police presence will be deployed to ensure the safety of residents in the area.
