The St. Mary police say they are exploring several leads into a shooting incident at the St. Mary High School in Highgate last evening.

One man was reportedly shot and killed while four others were shot and wounded.

IRIE FM news understands that the incident occurred while an after-sports-day party was being held at the school.

Acting Commander for the St. Mary police, Deputy Superintendent Kevin Francis says his team has launched a probe and hopes to resolve the matter quickly.

He also calls on residents to work with cops to bring the perpetrators to justice.
