St. Mary Police blame spill-over from other divisions for several incidents of crime in the parish
Head of the St. Mary Police Superintendent Bobette Morgan Simpson says the parish is seeing a spillover of crime from other police divisions.
Speaking this weekend, the superintendent noted that murders have decreased in the parish this year.
She said St. Mary has recorded 18 murders to date compared to 26 for the corresponding period last year.
The superintendent noted that the clear-up rate for murders has also improved to 65%.
She added however, that several shooting incidents and at least one murder in the parish stemmed from issues in another police division.
