The St James Municipal Corporation is now closer to formalizing a lease agreement  with Montego Bay Multi Sports Development Limited, for the use of the Montego Bay Sports Complex in Catherine Hall, St James.

Chairman of the St James Municipal Corporation Richard Vernon gave the assurance at the Parish’s Council meeting yesterday, when he stated that within the next three weeks, the bid document is expected to be on the desk of Desmond Mckenzie – the Minister of Local Government and Community Development, who will then make the review and final approval.

The lone investment bid to develop the facility into a multisport complex for football, track and field, swimming, along with racquet sports, was submitted last November by Yoni Epstein-the Chairman of Premier League club Montego Bay United  

If the bid is successful then events such as the Western Relays, along with the County of Cornwall Athletic Association track and field meets, among others can also return to the facility ,
